StressFreeTM Membranes  - A New Era in Waterproofing

YSM’s patented StressFreeTM
membrane, or Stress Reducing Mechanism, addresses a key problem in the construction of commercial and residential structures.
The waterproofing lifespan of a structure’s roof tends to be relatively short, compared to the other constructive elements, due to substrate movement caused by thermal and other physical stresses resulting in a widening and narrowing of cracks and joints that worsens during the life of the structure.

It is designed to provide a superior bridging solution above any cracks, joints or expansion joint.  This unique solution keeps the membrane free from tear and shear stresses despite massive substrate movements while being fully adhered to the substrate.

Although the StressFree membrane is fully adhered, it employs all of the benefits of the free-floating membranes, with none of the disadvantages of these two systems.
A detachment mechanism, inside membrane profile, prevents the transfer of tear and shear stresses originating in the substrate from reaching the major waterproofing element.

It is designed to provide a superior bridging solution above any cracks, joints or expansion joint.  This unique solution keeps the membrane free from tear and shear stresses despite massive substrate movements while being fully adhered to the substrate.
The waterproofing membrane itself remains unharmed and free from stresses and material fatigue.

The StressFree waterproofing membrane is comprised of two integrated sub-membranes.  An upper membrane (TPO or MB) is highly reinforced with improved weathering, aging and traffic resistance.  This upper membrane is bonded in a limited strength to a lower, elastic membrane which itself is fully bonded to the substrate.  In some configurations, the lower elastic membrane incorporates a pressure sensitive self-adhered thin layer protected with a releasing paper.  In other configurations, StressFree is bonded with quick drying, pressure sensitive glue.
Typical Uses:
Cracked flat roofs, joints, expansion joints, basements, flat roofs and underground elements under significant constructive movements, tanking, tunnels, tubes, reservoirs, parking lots
Other configurations incorporate a thicker, softer, foamed lower membrane, suitable for specific infrastructures such as rough surface roofs, tunnels, reservoirs, multi-level parking structures (between concrete layers) and more.
